Thank You!
We wanted to thank everyone for all of their love and support! Cole was such an amazing person, and we are blessed to be his parents. It means so much to us that so many people posted their love and support. I truly feel that is why we have been able to have an eternal perspective on everything and have kept our heads up.
To those of you who didn't have a chance to meet and hold Cole, I am sorry. He was the most beautiful baby ever. His tiny hands were constantly being poked from various IV's but he didn't complain a bit. He loved to keep his clubbed little feet tucked up by his bottom and would pull them back up if you tried to stretch them out. He kept his eyes shut the whole time the few days that he was here. I think he was tired from working so hard so live, but Nick and I and our parents had an amazing experience the last few hours that we spent with with him. Slowly he started to open one eye and then the other, like he was taking little peeks at us and seeing if we were there. We will forever treasure those sacred moments.
As a mother I long to hold him in my arms again. To those of you who have children, you know of their distint smell, and at times I smell him and tears come to my eyes. I have had my days where I ache to have him here with us, but try to keep in mind the eternal perspective. Although this has been the hardest thing that we have had to go through, Nick and I both feel blessed to have eachother, our families and the gospel. We know that everything happens for a reason and are grateful for the teachings which we have received through this. We thought that some of you might enjoy seeing some more pictures of Cole, so I have put them up in a slide show. I wish that we could personally thank each of you for your support. Please know that we appreciate each and everyone of you. We love you! Love Nick and Janessa

Cole Gary Whatcott 11/4/2008~11/10/2008 Cole Gary Whatcott, our sweet angel sent from Heavenly Father, returned home after a six day inspirational fight for life on November 10, 2008. Cole was born on November 4, 2008 and he immediately captured the hearts of all who came in contact with him. His true Christ-like spirit will always be remembered and cherished. His valiant fight was something to behold and was an example to many as to the passion we should have for life. Though his mortal stay was short and he will be missed, his spirit impacted our lives in ways we cannot ever forget. He inspired us to be better people. The sweet spirit of this newborn baby was as powerful and large as any man. He was truly a valiant being from on high and will be remembered for his brave and courageous heart. Cole inspired us to live a better Christ-like life filled with love and that will be his legacy to us all. We love you baby Cole and we will always remember you. Thank you for your love and time spent with us. We will miss you. Cole Gary Whatcott
Cole was born on November 4, 2008 to Nick and Janessa Whatcott. He was 1 month early and weighed 5lb 14 ounces and was 17 inches long. During Janessa's pregnancy they were informed that he would have clubbed feet. They had other tests to see if everything else was fine and they came back showing nothing of concern. After Cole was born they kept him at the hospital because he was not eating on his own and needed help breathing. During the week he was showing improvements and his family was preparing to take him home. Friday night came and the tables turned for sweet Cole, and he had a seizure in the middle of the night. The Dr's quickly performed many tests and found that he had a large mass in the aortic arch of his heart that was cutting off oxygen and blood flow to the left side his of his brain. They discovered that he had this while in the womb and that it had sent little blood clots to his brain causing brain damage before he was ever born. After learning this the doctors transferred him to Primary Children's hospital where specialist could give him the attention he needed. Dr's gave Cole medicine to keep the small valve in his heart open that newborns have during the first week of life and that was how he was getting oxygen to his body. Unfortunately there was nothing Dr's could do to remove the mass or obstruction. Dr's did all they could for Cole and he returned back to his Heavenly Father today, Monday November 10, 2008. We are forever grateful that we were blessed with his sweet spirit and will miss him dearly. Our prayers go out to his parents and their families during this time of sadness. We love you Cole!!
Nick and Janessa have been the most amazing and strong parents for this little guy. He has forever touched their lives and everyone's who got to meet him. He will be dearly missed and was very loved!!
