Cole Gary Whatcott
Cole Gary Whatcott 11/4/2008~11/10/2008 Cole Gary Whatcott, our sweet angel sent from Heavenly Father, returned home after a six day inspirational fight for life on November 10, 2008. Cole was born on November 4, 2008 and he immediately captured the hearts of all who came in contact with him. His true Christ-like spirit will always be remembered and cherished. His valiant fight was something to behold and was an example to many as to the passion we should have for life. Though his mortal stay was short and he will be missed, his spirit impacted our lives in ways we cannot ever forget. He inspired us to be better people. Cole helped us to reach out, to be kinder and gentler to each other. He was able to show us in his own special way how to become more like the Savior. The sweet spirit of this newborn baby was as powerful and large as any man. He was truly a valiant being from on high and will be remembered for his brave and courageous heart. Cole inspired us to live a better Christ-like life filled with love and that will be his legacy to us all. We love you baby Cole and we will always remember you. Thank you for your love and time spent with us. We will miss you. Survived by his proud Parents; Nick and Janessa Whatcott, Brother; Drew Whatcott; Grandparents Gary and Pam Whatcott, Jerry and Jeann Morrison, and many uncles, aunts and numerous cousins. We give special thanks to the doctors and nurses who attended to him with such tenderness and love through the hands of God at St. Marks NICU, Life Flight, and Primary Children's Hospital. Thank you all for your generosity, love and donations. A viewing will be held on Friday, November 14, 2008, from 10 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. at the LDS Copper Oaks Chapel 14583 S. Juniper Crest Road, Herriman, UT. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 14, 2008, at 12 p.m. at the LDS Copper Oaks Chapel. Interment, Redwood Memorial Cemetery, 6500 S. Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Cole Whatcott Charitable Fund at any America First Credit Union. In memory of Cole: www.colewhatcott.blogspot.com

Nick, Janessa and Drew, you are an example of faith and strength to us. You are a wonderful family. We loved your words during the service in the chapel today. I know Cole was singing with us "til we meet again", I felt his spirit during the hymn.
We love you guys,
We are so sorry for your loss. You are in our thoughts and prayers.
Nick and Janessa--
We want you to know how very sorry we are for the loss of your sweet baby. You are in our thoghts and prayers.
I hope this is not inappropriate to share, I thought it very inspirational. I have a friend in Texas who had twin baby boys born two days after Cole. They were born at 23 weeks and didn't make it. This is what their mother posted on their blog.
"There comes a time in life when something happens that changes everything. Changes the way you think, the way you act, the things you do, the things you say... there comes a time in life when you contemplate your beliefs, and you are tested. A time when your life's momentum screams to a sudden hault, and life before you know it... is over. When that something happens you have a decision to make... whether it be a decision of faith or hope, or a decision of bitterness or despair. It is a decision that will decide your fate. Most of us fear the day when something happens. We fear because we don't believe we can persevere. But then...something happens... and instead of losing yourself to despair, doubt, and uncertainty... you feel life breathed into you...you feel peace, you feel calm, and you even feel a smile... the unexpected emotions are startling... your faith...un-nerving. How could I feel this way, when something happens? The answer is simple, and so often over looked... the answer is eternal. When something happens I pray we can all see that "something" in Gods eyes... I hope that something will strengthen you, and make you a little better than you were the day before. There comes a time in life when something happens that changes everything... All I have to say is...let it."
We love you.
Nick and Janessa -
I am so sorry for your loss. What a beautiful little boy, and loved by so many. I just wanted to let you know your beautiful family is in my thoughts and prayers.
My Mom (Hillcrest 6th ward) told me about little Cole and sent me the link. Your strength is amazing. Heavenly Father will take good care of him until you can be together again.

Janessa, Nick and Drew... Just wanted you to know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. Buddy told me about all that you had been through and about this blog. I am so sorry about little Cole, but it is amazing the strength and love you feel knowing that he was too special to be here on earth for long, and that our heavenly father needed him back so soon. You guys have a beautiful family. Janessa you are all grown up, I haven't seen you in years, you look just like your mother. Take care and know that many are thinking of you in this hard time.

Janessa and Nick--I went to high school with Nick and heard about this through Jared & Jill Bowcutt. I am so sorry. I can't imagine what you must be going through. We also have a little boy named Cole, so it really hit home for me. May God bless you with peace and an extra measure of His Spirit during this hard time.
there is nothing i can write that can express my love and sympathy enough and tears are welling up in my eyes as i type. I wish Janessa a speedy recovery from Childbirth and hopefully your hearts can recover through time and all the prayers that are being said for you all. it is so hard to understand this but i hope you can find strength as as a couple, as a family, and through our Heavenly Father's love.
Love Tristie, Dax, and family.
Nick, I know it has been about 10 years since I have seen or talked to you but I wanted to let you know I am thinking about you. I have a niece who was born with a congential heart defect. My brother and sister helped start a non-profit organiation to help support other parents in similar circumstancs. The group also has angel families for those dealing
with the passing of their loved ones. It has been a great support group for them and might be helpful to you and Janessa. The website is: intermountainhealinghearts.org
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
